The McFarland Boys Volleyball Club will formally transition into the McFarland Boys Volleyball Co-op for the Fall 2026 Season.
The Co-Op will include:
- McFarland High School
- Monona Grove High School
- Oregon High School
- Deerfield High School
MBVC will be a High School Fall Sport and will enter as an Independent WIAA Varsity/JV Program. This will enable us to participate in matches against Varsity Programs in non-conference matches, invitational tournaments & the WIAA State Tournament.
MBVC will operate under the McFarland School District and all who register from McFarland, Monona Grove, Oregon, & Deerfield High Schools are eligible to participate.
MBVC will be 100% Parent & Community funded.
MBVC has adopted the USA Volleyball Transformative Coaching Philosophy
"If you are not going outside of your comfort zone, then you are not growing"
Person First
Success means consistently supporting the athlete's physical, emotional, & mental well-being
Developing a Learning Mindset
Success means training ourselves to seek development opportunities & value the growth that comes from learning over the momentary feeling of a win.
Balancing Training with Rest & Recovery
Success means pushing our limits and respecting the processes. This includes a healthy balance in training & ensuring there is adequate time for rest.
Skill Development
Success means developing our fundamental skills, overall volleyball knowledge, and application of strategy in games & practices. Winning is nice, but measurable and demonstrated improvement in the sport is the gold standard.
Embracing Failure
Success means understanding that volleyball is a game of errors. Growth comes from having the courage to make mistakes.
Team Culture
Success means holding ourselves, and each other, to a higher standard. This means having the discipline to act in a way that is consistent with our goals as a team.
